Thanks for taking some time to check out or website and get to know us a bit! We hope that you will take some time to read through several of our pages and get to know who we are as a church body and what we are about. You’re always invited to join us for a service on Sunday or throughout the week. Service times can be found here.
Below you will find several Frequently Asked Questions that visitors ask before attending a service. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us.
HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE?
In general, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes prior to the start of a service. For those with children that you need to take to Sunday School or childcare, teachers are ready to welcome your children into their classes 10 minutes prior to the start of Sunday School. Read more about our Youth & Family Ministry opportunities here.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
You’re invited to come as you are, whether it’s a suit or shorts; whatever you feel most comfortable wearing. When you arrive and look around, you’ll notice that our church family wears a variety of styles and clothes from business casual to jeans. Everyone is welcome at Delaware Bible Church regardless of the formality of their clothing preferences!
I’M HEARING IMPAIRED…CAN YOU HELP ME?
We hearing assistance (HA) units available for use during all worship services. If you would like to use an HA unit, please inform the Welcome Center. Additionally, you may bring a small, portable FM radio with earbuds with you and tune in to 102.5 FM to listen to our service; this is available on our campus but not elsewhere via radio.)
WHAT VERSION OF THE BIBLE DO YOU USE?
We preach and teach out of the English Standard Bible (ESV). Other literal translations and the original languages that the Bible was written in may be referenced as well.
I DON’T OWN A BIBLE. CAN I STILL COME?
Of course! In fact, we would love to give you a Bible when you visit if you do not already own one. When you arrive, let the volunteers at the Welcome Center know that you would like a Bible and they’d be happy to provide you a new Bible that you may take home with you.
WHAT TYPE OF MUSIC DO YOU PLAY?
We seek to honor God and worship him through a blended worship style. Depending on the week, you may come to church and be led in worship by a traditional piano and organ, by our praise band, or by a combination of the two. Our music selection is also blended as we sing a variety of hymns, contemporary worship songs, and chorus’ that are rich in doctrine, theology, and truth together.Regardless of the instrumentation style, our focus is on singing songs that uplift the name and worth of God and not ourselves.
WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I FIRST ARRIVE?
When you arrive, come through our main entrance and you’ll immediately see our Welcome Center. Please stop there to receive a map of our campus, material on the ministries that we provide, and any special information about the morning’s activities. The volunteers at the Welcome Center will be happy to answer any questions you have as well!
