NEW ADULT CLASSES

Beginning 4/2/23 from 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. on Sunday Mornings

 New Class

Class Option #1 – Milestones
God designed the church and the family to work together to raise the next generation of Christians. However, if the church and family are to work together to equip the generations, it is helpful to have a common path on which to walk. We call this the path Milestones. On this path, we are committed to equip families to disciple the next generation through leading Faith Talks, capturing God Moments, and celebrating Milestones in the lives of their children and grandchildren. We’ll talk more about each of those things over the course of eight weeks. It is highly recommended that you purchase a copy of The Legacy Path by Brian Haynes as it serves as a critical resource for families interested in taking the Milestones journey. This class will be led by Pastor Aaron Hedges and will meet in Rm. 212.

Continuing Classes

Class Option #2 – Romans 6-8
In the first five chapters of Romans Paul laid the groundwork for the rest of Romans. He established that every human has fallen short of God’s righteous standard (Ro. 3:23). As a consequence all are under the penalty of sin and everlasting death apart from God.  However man is not without hope. Rather than abandon us God paved a way for our rescue.  When an individual trusts in the Cross of Christ as payment for sins and believes He rose from the dead to give them life God will declare them righteous (3:21ff).  In doing so God saves them from everlasting death and gives them everlasting life (6:23).  For those who have done so there remains a central question.  Now that we have been saved from the penalty of sin how can salvation from the power of sin be secured?  Being saved by grace is one thing, being able to walk by grace is quite another.  How can a believer learn to live righteously?  Or put another way how do we live by grace?  Paul gives answers in Romans 6-8. This class will be taught by Rev. Paul Wright in Rm. 303.

Class Option #3 – Modern Cults & World Religions

What is a cult and why are so many drawn towards their false teaching? What are some of the most popular cults locally and nationally and what do they believe? All are invited to join us in this two-quarter class (from January – June) as we seek to answer these (and many more) questions. We’ll study various cults and world religions teaching false doctrine such as Catholicism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Hinduism, Islam, Scientology, Spiritism, the New Apostolic Reformation, and others. Focus will be given towards how we can share the gospel and truth of God’s Word with those who hold to these religions. This class will be taught by Pastor Brad Harris in Rm. 304.
